Windows is Microsoft's biggest operating system which has long since dominated the PC market. In recent years, however, this has changed, with Apple offering Apple's own operating system, Mac OS X, in addition to its own software and hardware. One of the largest users of Windows software is the Microsoft that uses it to develop its Windows based computer software and hardware products. On the other hand, there are thousands of third party developers that produce their own programs for use with the Microsoft operating system. As such, many of these programs are now available free of charge or for a fee.

There are, however, limitations to the free downloads. While most of the applications available through Trove are fully functional, many of the applications are limited and only available in limited versions. These applications will allow you to make use of them once, but after which you will be required to pay to download the updates, patches or new versions of the application. The good news, however, is that with the large number of applications that are available free of charge at Trove, you will have a vast choice of programs to download for use with your computer.
